Klippel-Feil syndrome - case report and orthodontic orthopedic possibilities

Klippel-Feil syndrome is a com- plex entity which includes a series of developmental anomalies whose main characteristic is the congenital fusion of cervical vertebrae, restriction of neck movements and low hairline. It is frequently associated to neurologic involvement. The genetic base of this syndrome is unknown, the incidence is 1/420000 labors. The authors report a case of a female patient with facial asymmetry, malocclusion class III and posterior cross-bite. The patient was examined at the Orthodontics Department at Universidade de Passo Fundo. Key words: Klippel-Feil syndro- me, Class III, posterior cross-bite, orthodontics.Downloads
