The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of immersion into peracetic acid on the dimensional accuracy and surface tension of silicone materials. For the dimensional accuracy assay, 5 specimens were made for the control group and 5 for the treatment group, a ruled block was used as described in American Dental Association (ADA) spe- cification number 19. The measurements were made immediately after preparation and immersion and after 24hours, using a measuring mi- croscope with an accuracy of 0,005 mm. For the surface tesnion assay, 5 specimens were made, and the measurements of contact angle were read with the software Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1. The data were analyzed with t Student test (p < 0,05) and no significant differences between control and treatment groups were found. The short-term disinfection of the im- pression materials tested had no influence on the evaluated properties. Key words: disinfection, dimensio- nal accuracy, surface tension, sili- cone materials.Downloads
