Ectodermal dysplasia is a hereditary disease that involves ectodermic structures, specially hair, nails, skin and tooth. It occurs more frequently in males and the prevalence is 1:100,000 of males` births. The two classic forms of expression of this abnormality are anhidrotic or hypohidrotic and hidrotic. Characteristics as hypodontia, hypohidrose and hypotricose are observed on anhidrotic dysplasia. The hidrotic condition exhibited dystrophic nails, sparsed hair and teeth abnormalities without the involvement of the sweat and sebaceous glands. Different forms of expressivity are related to this syndrome. The treatment of ectosermal dysplasia depends on the extension of clinic condition and the management is direct related with the severity of this abnormity. Usually, the treatment is multidisciplinary and involves the integration of different specializations. The purpose of this paper is to report a case of a patient with ectodermal dysplasia of mild expression and discuss the most important aspects of this anomaly.Downloads
