A proposta deste artigo é refletir sobre uma experiência específica de ensino online de cursos livres sobre a história e temas correntes do Oriente Médio, para um público brasileiro, em tempos da crise sanitária da Covid-19. Entende-se a experiência do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa sobre o Oriente Médio (GEPOM) como um exercício de História Pública e de História Global, apresentando reflexões nesse sentido, e avalia-se brevemente as reações dos alunos – de diversos backgrounds e de diversos lugares do Brasil e do mundo – a respeito da experiência.
