Abstract

The guidance documents for educational management produced by supranational entities mirror the adoption of a management discourse with a focus on comparability and competitiveness, and also reflect the assumption of education as an instrument at the service of the economic world. There is a propagation of neoliberal ideas in the educational field translated into the expansion of educational market or quasi-market ideas, introducing in the educational sphere a discursive change that translates into a certain departure from the  democratizing discourse and an approach to the gestational discourse. This article focuses on the evaluation processes of educational organizations as regulatory mechanisms of educational management. It is important to understand, from the studies we have been developing on the theme, how the discursive constructions present in normative documents and evaluation instruments contribute to the strong regulation towards the commodification of education.
