This article analyses the process of curricular restructuring of Pedagogy course at Centro de Educação (CE), from Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB) between 1984 and 1996, based on historical studies carried out on its trajectory and memories of teachers who experienced this context. Since its creation in 1939, Pedagogy course in Brazil has been target of discussions regarding its identity, which influenced the legislation that defined its curriculum. The applied theoretical-methodological framework encompasses memory, Oral History, and the documentary analysis on CONSEPE Resolutions n. 26/74 and n. 13/96, which deal with curricular reformulations, in dialogue with Severo and Pimenta (2022), Libâneo (2010), among others. The analysis suggests that, besides curricular changes occurred in the course, these did not address essential issues, such as Pedagogy epistemology.
