The Natural Science Museum of the State University of Ponta Grossa (MCN-UEPG) constitutes a favorable environment for the development of extension activities. One of these initiatives was carried out by undergraduate Geography students, within the framework of extension curricularization, involving theoretical training and mediation in the museum. This study analyzed the MCN-UEPG as a space for scientific communication, based on the perceptions of visitors who participated in activities mediated by undergraduate students. Data were collected through semi-structured questionnaires applied to 30 visitors. The results revealed that mediation stimulated interest in science and contributed to the expansion of knowledge about geoscientific themes and regional contexts. Interaction with objects, exhibitions, and the students’ explanations stood out as relevant factors for learning. It is concluded that the activity strengthened the role of the MCN as a space for scientific dissemination and as a bridge between university and society.
