The constitutional guarantee in the effective protection of the human right to a sustainable environment: transition from traditional lights to led technology in the public lighting system in Mexico

The objective of this paper is to analyze the constitutional guarantee in the effective protection of the human right to a sustainable environment, considering the examination of the transition from traditional lights to LED technology in the public lighting system in Mexico. Following the introduction, the article presents the conceptual framework and justification of the energy problem in Mexico. Then it addresses the effective protection of economic, social, cultural and environmental rights in Mexican legislation by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. In the sequence, a proposal is presented for the guarantee of a sustainable environmental right in the transition to LED lights, followed by the analysis of the perspective and impact on the consolidation of public policy at the municipal level.
