Use of mobile applications in english language teaching

This qualitative study aimed to analyze the scientific production that deals with the teaching of the English Language mediated by digital technologies, aiming to highlight important contributions about the use of applications for teaching English Language, highlighting potentialities and limitations of the use of mobile applications. A literature review was carried out based on 3 articles and 7 dissertations. The bibliographical research took place in the CAPES and Google Scholar databases, delimited between the years 2017 to 2022. Based on the works analyzed, it is clear that digital technologies can be used as enhancing instruments in IL teaching, as a way to break with traditional teaching, based only on the explanation of content by the teacher in the classroom. With regard to the use of mobile applications, it appears that the Duolingo is a tool that can assist in teaching and learning the English language.
