This article is the result of the dissertation that was developed in the Graduate Program in Education at the Regional University of Blumenau Foundation (Furb/SC). In this research, it is assumed that Heidegger's ontological-existential analysis allows the understanding of being. The bases of this ontology can serve as a basis for apprehending the ways of being of the curricular component Life Project in Santa Catarina, as provided for in the Base Curriculum of Secondary Education of the Territory of Santa Catarina. The research is justified because the inclusion of the Life Project in the curricula is, in a way, new, and there are few studies about its characteristics. Although the educational legislation mentions that this curricular component must fully train students, it is not known how such training takes place (whether in an existential or biopsychosocial sense). When analyzing the Life Project in the Base Curriculum of High School in the Territory of Santa Catarina, it was noticed that there is a certain distance between the curricular component and ontological-existential concerns, highlighting concepts specific to Psychology, Sociology, Economics and Anthropology.
