The aim of this article was to investigate the influence of cultural capital on the social mobility of individuals belonging to low and middle-income classes, seeking to portray, based on Pierre Bourdieu, the structural tendency to perpetuate existing disparities in society's structure. To do so, the study examined the professional integration of individuals from low and middle-income classes with completed higher education. The quantitative research involved a survey-type assessment, with 138 graduates from the Business Administration program at a Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the Baixada Fluminense as research subjects. The results aligned with Pierre Bourdieu's theory, indicating the perpetuation of the lower class in the investigated social structure. This suggests the maintenance of society's elitization, demonstrating greater difficulty in achieving social mobility for individuals with low income, even with a higher education degree.
