This article aims to understand how academic research establishes relationships between Ethnomathematics, Mathematical Modelling and Ethnomodelling, with the contributions of Paulo Freire, with the aim of enabling the promotion of a more humanized and contextualized Mathematics Education. To this end, searches were carried out in the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations in the period 2012-2023. This is a qualitative research, with a bibliographical approach. To analyze the five selected investigations, Discursive Textual Analysis was used. It was identified that the majority of works that establish relationships between some of Paulo Freire's concepts and Mathematical Modelling or Ethnomathematics, are located in the field of Youth and Adult Education. However, no research was found that relates the Freirena perspective with Ethnomodelling. This gap highlights the need for research into the possibilities of these intersections.
