Data collected over the last six years by Infantia research group reveals that, in the contexts observed, there are several practices involving the use of materials such as pencils and paper. These interventions significantly impact children's development, learning, and social interactions. Furthermore, the text examines the relationship between innovation and technology, particularly the integration of digital devices into early childhood education. However, these contexts often overlook how children social and culturally learn, interact, experience, and construct their understanding of reality. Everyday materials and objects are largely absent from educational practices in Brazilian Early Childhood Education, with children being taught using methods typically designed for elementary school settings. The data also highlight educational situations involving everyday objects, underscoring the importance of implementing educational approaches that foster learning and development in early childhood contexts.
