This study analyzes teacher appreciation within the Career and Salary Plan (PCS) for teachers in the municipality of Catalão, Goiás, Brazil, with a focus on teacher education. It is a bibliographic and documentary research, qualitative in nature, grounded in historical-dialectical materialism. The analysis is based on the final document of the 2024 National Education Conference (CONAE) and Catalão’s PCS. The study is relevant in light of ongoing transformations affecting teaching work. The theoretical foundation includes Libâneo (2011, 2018), Fontes (2014), and Prado (2019), in addition to relevant legislation. The PCS reveals a commitment to continuous, quality teacher education, highlighting progression, fair remuneration, and training leave. However, gaps in the legislation may hinder teacher appreciation and make it difficult to identify professional development needs. Thus, continuing education becomes a crucial tool in addressing educational challenges.
