Since Science Fairs (CF) are resources and spaces that foster Scientific Initiation in basic education, the aim of this study was to analyze aspects of CF in the realization of a Knowledge Exhibition at an Amazonian Science Club. Using a qualitative approach, the exploratory and participant research reflected on the “Scientific Congress” activity planned and carried out by 20 primary school students and 18 teacher-monitors in this pedagogical space. Considering the theoretical-methodological elements “objectives”, “scientific production” and “desirable characteristics”, “subjective changes in the students” and “organization and resources” of a CF when compared to the Scientific Congress, we noticed points of confluence and divergence, as. well as its pedagogical and formative potential to foster the practice of communicating scientific knowledge and student protagonism, but that some elements that were not very applicable or were not evidenced could be better implemented.
