This paper analyzes the use of theater as a tool for scientific dissemination and teaching, highlighting its role in building a critical and interdisciplinary view of science. Based on a qualitative literature review, the research focuses on three axes: the educational dimensions of scientific theater, its practical and itinerant applications, and its contribution to teacher training. The results indicate that theater promotes students' emotional and cognitive engagement, enabling the redefinition of misconceptions about science. The itinerant performance of theater plays expands access to science in informal spaces, strengthening the link between scientific knowledge and society. Despite the advances, the studies indicate the need for more structured public policies and long-term research to support. Scientific theater is a powerful strategy to promote scientific literacy and the democratization of knowledge, contributing significantly to the popularization of science in Brazil.
