The teacher-museum relationship during the Covid-19 pandemic
a study on virtual activities in Brazilian museums

The present study investigated the teacher-museum relationship during the Covid-19 pandemic. A research involved the identification and selection of five museums in Brazil that carried out actions virtual programs aimed at Basic Education teachers, followed by identification, in each museum, of museum educators and up to five teachers who participated in the activities. The museum educators answered a questionnaire and the teachers another questionnaire. Next, a teacher from each museum was interviewed. As a result of this investigation, virtual actions were important means for museums to dialogue with teachers. They made it possible for those who were not in the habit of visiting them and who contributed to the exercise of their profession. In addition, some teachers interviewed, experienced for the first time the online experience with museums. In addition, they revealed the commitment of their museum educators to continue the activities, even with the limitations of employees and infrastructure.
