Current society demands changes and innovation in the educational process provoking reflections
about the teaching and learning methodological diversification. The study presents a changing proposal to the teaching work in the Ensino Médio using the Project Based Learning as an
interdisciplinary active learning methodology supported by a Virtual Learning Environment. The
research tried to analyze what teachers say about the methodological strategy carried out in two third
grade groups of students of an Ensino Médio state school located in a rural area of the city of
Canguçu, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The methodological procedure was done in a qualitative approach making use of the action research principles. Data were collected in a questionnaire and
analyzed upon the Discourse of the Collective Subject technique. Data analysis showed that the
development of teaching and learning exercises through active learning methodologies, in an interdisciplinary way and making use of network conversation, promoted a transformation in the
teachers’ pedagogical work, enabling interaction between contents and daily facts, integration between different areas of knowledge and the construction of a collaborative work.
