This article is about democratic management in the Municipal Education Plans of Association of Municipalities of Alto Irani (AMAI) in the state of Santa Catarina (SC). Its objective is to analyze the extent to which the Municipal Education Plans in the municipalities that make up AMAI assume democratic management as a guiding principle in the administration of municipal education. This is a qualitative research, guided by the historical-dialectical materialist method, based on documentary study and to analyze the data is used content analysis. It is evident that, in general, the plans assume democratic management as the guiding principle of education administration, although in some passages there are elements and political-practical approaches that tend to promote a certain disconnection with this principle.
