The general objective of the article is to carry out a survey with nursing students at the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS) about the conditions in which they have been developing emergency remote education (ERE) and their perceptions about the process. The text is the result of a descriptive-analytical research;
understanding information in the light of content analysis. A survey was carried out on the main educational approaches adopted by the Brazilian State, with a focus on higher education, at the time of the pandemic by Covid-19 and, consequently, the institutional perspective adopted by UEMS. Data were collected through a questionnaire and pointed out the predominance of educational activities using cell phones and the use of a series of digital tools to access the content. Regarding how the academic experience was at ERE, categories related to the teaching-learning process, the study in the home environment and the technological equipment and resources were highlighted. It is believed that the Covid-19 pandemic brought disruptions and new configurations to the area of education that will require reflections, studies and maturation by teachers, students and family members.
