Considering the capitalist crisis, this article analyzes the formulations of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for youth and adult education. The analysis undertaken starts from the following question: what is the ideopolitical meaning of UNESCO's formulations for EJA in the context of the intensification of the capitalist crisis? It observes the technical-scientific-informational changes in the face of the structural crisis of capitalism, emphasizing its consequences for the living conditions of workers. It indicates the Jacques Delors report as the main guide for UNESCO proposals with the concept of lifelong learning consolidating itself in basic education. The V and VI International Conferences on Adult Education (CONFINTEAs) appropriated this concept, reinforcing it as a dominant concept and articulated to the mercantile logic in the scope of youth and adult education.
