In this text, the enunciative relationships regarding work and Life Project, enrolled in the New High School program (Law nº 13.415/2017), are discussed, focusing on its expression in Mato Grosso do Sul. It is argued that such discursivity structures the regulation of subjects who, in the context of the advance of neoliberalism in the country, are objectified in economic terms, therefore, when asked to reflect on their individual and collective life, work is endowed with a central element. The textbook distributed to the State Education System for use in the Life Project subject is used as a source, being analyzed from the principles of Michel Foucault's discursive analysis. It is concluded that in Mato Grosso do Sul, in view of the curricular practices introduced in and by the New High School, young people have been questioned by a morality based on work, leaving little room for an ethical reflection that deviates from this aspect. In the end, the question is asked: will there be a place for a schooling that leads young people to develop their life projects beyond work?
