The curriculum structure and high school design have significantly been changed by Law n° 13.415/2017. As a result of the reform, high school purposes were submitted to market perspectives. It’s supposed that market forces confrontation demands understanding how and where they have been acting within the public school system. Thus, this study aims to identify the acting and division of labor of private entities conducting high school reform in Alagoas through public-private partnerships. The critical analysis guides the scrutiny of education policy documents to identify private agents and their action fields within conducting the high school reform in Alagoas. The main conclusion of the study points to market agents as leading actors in the high school policy formulation, curriculum definition, teaching materials, digital platforms provision, and training of education professionals, with the engaged agreement of the local government.
