Abstract

I present the results of a research project carried out at the Center for Studies and Research in Anti-Racist Education, Human Rights and Diversity (NEPEA) of a public university in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. The research used decolonial epistemologies in education, based on which theoretical surveys were carried out concerning part of the academic production in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul on access, permanence and completion of schooling for transvestite-transsexual-transgender people. From this survey, it was possible to create tables with the number, profile and experiences of these students in the pantanal state. With this data, we were able to generate knowledge about the specificities of an educational necropolitics in this region. The conclusions were that: 1) the presence of these bodies in the state’s schooling processes; 2) experiences of compulsory expulsion in the past (1980s, 1990s and early 2000s) and 3) the absence of trans intellectuals in the field of academic production at universities.
