The phrase attributed to Bertold Bretch, “What are these times, when we have to defend the obvious?”, can summarize the proposal of the reflections presented here, which seek to understand why working on dialogue in the classroom, as a praxis aimed at human development, could be considered an innovative attitude. To this end, the need for live dialogue in its formative social dimension will be analyzed, based on Hans-Georg Gadamer (1999, 2002), Hans-Georg Flickinger (2003, 2010) and Walter Kohan (2007, 2024), specifically, their emphasis on the dimension of doubt and listening as constituent aspects of the training process. Along this path, the idea of innovation and its connection with other aspects and practices applied to the current educational field will be problematized and we will analyze the condition of live dialogue in this scenario.
