The objective of this research was to analyze, based on the Theory of Developmental Teaching, the supervised internship in Physical Education, with a view to working in a school specialized in serving people with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. The study is characterized as collaborative action research. To operationalize the Didactic-Developmental Internship, we organized a theoretical-methodological-dialectical matrix with teaching and study activities, with the intention of promoting the development of students' theoretical thinking, and presenting a proposal to carry out the analysis. The research results in the proposition, organization, operationalization and analysis of the Didactic-Developmental Internship, which allowed theoretical-methodological reflections on the Theory of Developmental Teaching and teacher training in Physical Education in specialized schools. If we aim to organize teaching in the school context, with positive repercussions on learning and human development, it is also necessary to critically analyze our own teaching activity.
