Abstract

This paper investigates the conceptions of Mathematics, its teaching and learning revealed by future Mathematics teachers, who participated in Mathematics Pibid of a Public University. This qualitative research had its data produced through recording of Pibid Mathematics meetings from April to November 2021. The research considered and identified, from a structured theoretical framework, two ways of conceiving Mathematics which interfere in its teaching and learning: one of a ready and finished Mathematics, and other of a Mathematics in construction. The concept of Mathematics in construction was more evident in dialogues of Pibid participants when they consider the student at the center of the teaching and learning processes, also due to the discussions on methodologies that could be used for realization of learning in the remote teaching period.
