The PNLD 2021 Textbooks and their Contributions in the Fight against Fake News

This study aimed to verify the contributions of the PNLD 2021 Textbooks of the Integrative Projects of the Natural Science and its Technologies Area in confronting Fake News. The study was conducted through documentary research, in which we performed an analysis of thirteen books approved in the National Textbook Program - PNLD 2021 for High School. As a method of analysis, we used the assumptions of Bardin's content analysis (2016). We identified the significant presence of the theme in the textbooks. Among the terms found, the expression Fake News appears in abundance. We understand that the analyzed textbooks, combined with the teaching work, can contribute to the formation of critical thinking in students and the dissemination of correct scientific information, acting in the confrontation of Fake News.
