The Fourth Colony Geopark (FCG) is a territory rich in natural and cultural heritage and it is in this context that this article aims to report and discuss moments of scientific dissemination, mediated by stories inspired by the cultural context of the FCG. For this, training workshops were developed with teachers and students of basic education in schools of two municipalities of the territory (Ivorá and Nova Palma), conducted through the methodology of Heritage Education. The results unfold in two analytical blocks, with the stories that reveal the Sciences: "The bela polenta: why is it so special?" and "The dream of little Paolo". Storytelling, as a science dissemination strategy, brought students closer to the sciences, deconstructed perceptions of common sense and stimulated curiosity about the natural and cultural processes of FCG.
