Science communication presents itself as a pathway to bring science closer to the public, contributing to the fight against misinformation, especially in the post-COVID-19 pandemic context. In this scenario, the present study aimed to map and analyze recent scientific production (2019–2024) on science communication related to science education. To this end, a quali-quantitative approach was adopted, involving the collection of articles from the Web of Science database, followed by bibliometric analyses performed in R using the Bibliometrix package, and content analysis. Initially, 342 articles were identified, of which 66 comprised the quantitative stage. In the qualitative phase, 20 articles with direct contributions to Science Education were fully analyzed. The results reveal trends, emerging categories, and gaps in the field, highlighting the relevance of science communication as both a pedagogical resource and a political practice for strengthening science education.
