This research aimed to understand the expectations of the third year high school students, regular and education of young people and adults (EJA) modalities, of the State College Normal Professor Cesar Augusto Ceva, located in the municipality of Ipameri in southern Goiás state , in relation to the continuity of their studies. For this, a documentary research was conducted, based on academic records of the educational institution, and also supported by data from national research institutions, such as the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). In addition, a bibliographic research was carried out, which subsidized the analysis of documentary data and dealt with topics such as: projects and perspectives, social representation, educational and work profile, school exclusion processes, and challenges to be faced by young students, especially from high school. As a result, this research has shown that, despite the differences in the profile of regular students and the EJA, they have in common the desire to continue their studies, reconciling with work, with a view to achieving a higher technical or technological level, and to present themself in a more qualified way for the labor market.
