The article examines Freud's work to discuss the intersections that exist between psychoanalysis and education, following the changes in his position at different times. As the author did not set out a formal program of relations between the two fields, it is necessary to go through the texts looking for extracts that reveal different moments in the relationship between education and psychoanalysis. The examination begins by referring to the direct observation of children and the problem of worldview. It then reviews the texts in which Freud approaches the matter of education. Assuming that the field of research between psychoanalysis and education is tense but legitimate, it seeks to critically reflect on the most promising paths to sustain creative and fruitful exchanges between the two areas. The essay concludes with a balance of future prospects and challenges that set the research lines at the intersection of psychoanalysis, education and human formation.
