This article addresses the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the basic education curriculum as part of an ongoing research project. The central issue is related to the phenomenon of AI and the challenges that this digital technology poses to basic education. The objective was to investigate these challenges, seeking to understand the contradictions and contributions from school curricula. The methodology is bricolage, which involves bibliographical research and the creation of a device/workshop in the university ‘spacetime’. The results point to a set of complex issues, such as the use, lack of information, implications, possibilities and challenges of AI technologies in education. There is evidence that this activity contributed to the training of cultural practitioners, articulating theoretical knowledge with practice, resulting in authorial productions.
