Love, lovingness, in education is addressed through the contributions of bell hooks and Paulo Freire. The theme is articulated within the debate on dialogicity in education. The article begins by situating Freire's position and then reconstructs elements of bell hooks's contribution. The proposal aims to bring these contributions to bear on the agenda of educational processes against the backdrop of times of dissemination of hate as a political and pedagogical practice and discourse. This is a bibliographical review. It results in a presentation of some of bell hooks' works, relating hooks' lovingness to freirian dialogicity.
