The present work seeks, through a hermeneutic-dialectical analysis, to analyze the relationship between research and teaching practice today. To this end, using Byung Chul-Han's theme of infocracy as a parameter of analysis, it brings a reflection on the practice of research in the context of current academic productivism, and its possible developments in relation to training in Brazil, then serve from classical authors such as Habermas, Adorno and Arendt, and also from current researchers, to bring some antitheses in relation to the productivist system, and, in the end, based on practices and observations of both authors, weave some possible paths to recover the meaning of research and enhance its use in the construction of an education that is in constant transformation and requires well-trained professionals who are aware of their role.
